Raffle Rules and Restrictions

Tickets cannot be sold out of the geographical confines of Montana. Tickets can be sold over the internet however online payment can only be with a debit card. Payment by credit card or services such as PayPal are prohibited. Participants must be 18 or older to enter the raffle and be eligible for prizes.

The raffle drawing will be held March 27, 2023 at 7:00 pm MDT. You need not be present to win. Tickets are $5.00 per ticket with six (6) tickets for $25.00. If less than 1200 $5 raffle tickets are sold the raffle tickets will be fully refunded and no prize shall be awarded. The refund shall occur within 45 days of raffle cancellation.

For each payment of $5.00 the purchaser is given one (1) entry into the three (3) specified Raffle prizes. Each entry represents one chance to win each of the three (3) specified Raffle prizes. A prize winner is entitled to win only one prize. Each prize is subject to, and each prize winner is fully responsible for, any and all federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prize. Raffle tickets are not redeemable for cash. There will be three (3) $5.00 raffle prizes:

FIRST PRIZE:

Plane tickets for two (2) to Ireland with ten (10) day car rental and One Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($1500.00) U.S. Spending money not to exceed Four Thousand Five Hundred and No/ 100 Dollars ($4,500.00) purchased through Flathead Travel Service, Patsy Galiher.

SECOND PRIZE:
Second prize is a $1,000 gas voucher

THIRD PRIZE:
Third prize is a $500 Visa card.

The drawing will be March 27, 2023. The time and location of the drawing to be announced two weeks in advance. Raffle entrants accept and agree (1) to be bound by all the rules, limitations and restrictions set forth herein and (2) that their names and/or likenesses may be disclosed to and used by the news media and may otherwise be used by the Friends of Irish Studies in the West for publicity purposes. The Friends of Irish Studies in the West's interpretation and application of the rules and regulations shall be final.

Checks that are returned for insufficient funds or other reasons, or credit card purchases that are denied shall disqualify the Ticket. It is the purchaser’s sole responsibility to provide a valid, deliverable mailing address. Winner(s) must claim and accept ownership of the prize(s) by May 1, 2023 or forfeit the prize. No prize can be taken in cash. Prizes forfeited will be re-raffled and awarded within one (1) week and must be accepted by June 1, 2023.

Only one (1) person or organization may be identified as the purchaser of a Ticket. Title to the prizes shall be in the name on the Raffle Ticket stub. Tickets are not transferable or assignable. Prizes are also not transferable or assignable. Division of a prize by a group purchasing a ticket in common shall be the sole responsibility of the person or organization named as the holder of record of that ticket, should that ticket be selected as a winner.

TRIP PRIZE CANCELLATION POLICY:

Winner (s) of the Trip to Ireland must claim and accept the prize by May 1, 2023. The winner(s) must purchase at trip to Ireland through Flathead Travel, Inc., by November 1, 2023 with a trip completed by August 1, 2024. The trip once purchased is on a NON-REFUNDABLE BASIS. The First Prize Trip cannot be taken in cash.

The Raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and is void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. No portion of the raffle ticket price may be deducted as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.

Net proceeds of the Raffle go to THE FRIENDS OF IRISH STUDIES IN THE WEST to distribute for charity or educational purposes, which is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization registered with the Secretary of State of Montana. Ticket purchasers, by participating (and winners, by accepting a prize) release The Friends of Irish Studies in the West, and it’s respective Board of Directors, committee members, volunteers, partners, employees, vendors, agents, representatives, sponsors, service agencies and independent contractors, and each of their respective directors, officers, partners, employees and agents, including advertising, public relations, direct marketing and promotion agencies, from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession or use of the prize(s) awarded and also acknowledge that they did not receive any representations, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize. Any liability of The Friends of Irish Studies in the West shall be limited to Ticket price paid and in the case of any dispute, the decision of The Friends of Irish Studies in the West shall be final. ANY CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE CONTRACT, OR THE BREACH THEREOF, SHALL BE SETTLED BY BINDING ARBITRATION IN MISSOULA, MONTANA. THE FRIENDS OF IRISH STUDIES IN THE WEST DOES NOT MAKE OR PROVIDE ANY REPRESENTATION, GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE RAFFLE PRIZES.
